RC Car Spare Parts: What To Order First

The fastest way to lose an RC customer is to sell them a car and then have no parts when something breaks. Spare parts are where the repeat business lives — and they are cheap to stock relative to a full car. Here's the priority order we recommend to every new distributor.

1. Tires & wheels

These wear out first, plain and simple. Stock the 2–3 most common wheel sizes for your range. They're small, light and high-turnover — the easiest spare-part win.

2. Suspension arms & hinge pins

Crashes bend and snap A-arms. A handful of front and rear arms per popular model prevents the "it broke and I can't fix it" return. Hinge pins and turnbuckles go with them.

3. Body shells

Cosmetic but emotional — a cracked shell makes a car feel dead. Carry 2–3 body styles so buyers can refresh the look. Light and cheap to ship.

4. Pinion & spur gears

Under hard acceleration or a bind, gears strip. A small bag of pinions and a spur or two keeps a car drivable. Match the tooth count to the exact model.

5. Batteries & connectors

The real consumable. Batteries degrade and get lost; stock spares plus the right connector types and a compatible charger. This is also where you protect against the lithium-battery shipping learning curve — order them with the cars, not after.

6. Differentials & servo

Medium-term wear items. One or two spares per popular SKU covers you without tying up cash. Servos fail under abuse; a couple of standard-size servos are worth having.

7. Clips, screws & bumpers

Trivially cheap, absurdly high-frequency. A mixed bag of body clips and spare screws solves 80% of "it fell off" complaints for almost no cost.

8. A starter bundle that works
